Walden’s nature and walking guides are registered professionals whose passion is to help individuals such as you discover the unique natural and cultural environment that is Italy.
Most people have heard or read about the great art historical towns of Tuscany, Florence, Siena, Pisa and Lucca. We sometimes forget that just beyond these exciting towns, the countryside offers some of the most famous and beautiful scenery on earth; the Mediterranean sea, mountains, lakes, rivers and forests of course, but also small and ancient villages resting in the fields and hills, where the pace of life is still slow.
Walden has decided to go beyond offering a trekking experience by helping you discover the genuine nature of the country, through its peoples, its customs and traditions.
We firmly believe that the best way to explore the countryside is to wander along its trails and drop in on the locals to see how they work the land and create high quality products. And after an honest day’s walking, we insist on a hot shower, eating a home cooked meal, tasting the best wines and enjoying a good night’s sleep in comfortable beds and rooms!
Italy is blessed with a mild climate which makes it ideal for year round walking. Groups never exceed 15 people. If you represent a group of walkers and already know where you want to go, we can help you plan and ensure that your walk will be exciting and memorable.
The language of conversation during the walks is Italian and English and Walden staff will meet you at Pisa or Florence airport or train station, the start and end points of the tour.
